Experimental opens up doors that have perhaps never been opened before. At the frontier exploring new ground, so that's a good start in my mind. Nene full of bleeps (as has been noted elsewhere) with a nicely laid back tempo in pace. Actually quite relaxing for me, but then I am not wholly representative of the general public, most of whom would write this EP off from the start. The second track retains the feel, with a difference in structure and some mild play in stereophonics. However, it seems a little lost on the way, like it is not quite sure what direction to head into.
Bohite, the third track, sticks to its guns throughout, with a little diversification that sounds like lines of text being spaced out more and a little haphazard sounding as a result. Lenh picks up with a strong theme and develops nicely, in a casual manner. Then there is a change in tone that underlines that which has gone on before it, with a few twists and turns towards the shoreline.
Huunn is more straightforward and forthright, establishing itself quickly, seeming more assertive than the other tracks and probably the easiest one to listen to so far, the earlier tracks now seeming a little crooked, so to speak. Last, but not by any means least, we have Gitj. The mood is lowered, with various tweaks and squeaks, but it feels more settled than the music did at the beginning of the EP. All-in-all, a cool transformation to listen to, like a chrysalis from which the butterfly Teäl emerges.
