Rampant from the outset, a lovely electronic melee complete with cacophonous chorus, that soon finds a nice sense of rhythm to work around. Good, straightforward sense of construction. I still haven't made it to Venice, though I won't say a sunset is the same sun everywhere you watch it go down, I could imagine Venice would be potentially stunning in such an afterglow of a day amongst such a watery realm. The beat stays essentially the same with a difference in melody and interactive rhythmic structures, with submerged foundations. Nice ending. Grab gets you quickly into the flow, a more fluent interpretation of a gesture that could mean saving someone's life, or pinching their handbag. Let's stay positive and stick with the former. Again, nice minimalism, different brush strokes on the same canvas. Very minimal minimalism in places.
Limp Beat is anything but limp. I have one due to a hip problem, so maybe it just seems normal to me!-) Man, it hurts but this track is cool and pretty full on despite it's title. Some grand sounds in the mix that fill it out nicely, even with a slight shift in percussion keeping the same resounding rhythmic melody going and still fitting the beat. In that way I suppose it is like a limp, you compensate and battle on. Life's too short to let these things get you down. Loved the ending, nice one.
Hepatology, is that the study of moss or blood, I can't remember. Either way, the essence remains and it is more of the same attitude, so if you like the first track you should like them all, for their uniformity and little individual nuances. This is a pretty straightforward track, falls into place like a good soldier. Face to face starts like Limp Beat finished, with the subtle nuance and builds solidly on that. Certainly seems to be sticking to its BPM, which should appeal to the techno dancers.
Last but not least there is Lick Me. Stutters into existence, then dives in with the percussion, slight funkiness to the bassline. Overall, I could see this working well as a continual set with the slight variations that exist and appealing to the movers and shakers with its formulaic structures and beats. Nothing defeats the beats but the diverse nature of the creator.
